a simple life

I choose
a simple life
I receive a few dollars
for a poem

I live in a basement
with candles
old framed pictures
and an old TV
as my company

I have a junker
it’s all mine and paid for
it’s old but
I fix it myself

my clothes are
old
and faded
but not ripped too badly

I choose
a simple life
I am happy

As a teen, wanted to live from writing poetry. Wrote several books, selling nationally. Hung out with readers throughout the United States. My writing has been on back burner. Now dusting off my desk and have my pen in hand. Hope you enjoy some of what I write.
