Our love
it will last forever
won’t it?
I wanted my last job
to last forever.
It was my best job.
Paid well
I really
liked my friends.
That job was suppose
to last forever
wasn’t it?
Being healthy
with no illness
and no disease
no cancer
no heart attack
no stroke.
My health was suppose
to last forever
wasn’t it?
My youth and energy
was suppose
to last forever
wasn’t it?
I am quoting a song by Anna Bartlett Warner:
Jesus loves me
yes I know
for the Bible tells me so
little ones to him belong
they are weak
but he is strong.
I am quoting a message by Brennan Manning:
God will ask
did you believe
that I
loved you?
That I desired you?
That I waited
for you day after day?
That I wanted to hear
the sound of your voice?
The Holy Bible
tells me to believe
in Jesus Christ
and invite Him
into my heart and life —
I did that.
Back to my poem:
I believe
in that song.
I believe
in that message.
I will live forever
after I die
won’t I?
